Founded in 1946 and headquartered in Coconut Grove, Florida, Aura Minerals conducts operations primarily in Brazil, Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala, with over 630,000 hectares of mineral rights emphasizing near-mine and regional exploration in stable jurisdictions. In December 2025, the company completed the acquisition of Mineração Serra Grande gold mine in Goiás, Brazil, from AngloGold Ashanti, adding three mechanized underground mines, an open pit, and a dedicated metallurgical plant to its portfolio; in January 2025, it acquired the Era Dorada (Cerro Blanco) gold project and Mita geothermal project in Guatemala from Bluestone Resources for up to $74.3 million enterprise value; in July 2025, it raised approximately $196 million through a U.S. Nasdaq listing to fund expansions including Serra Grande; and in May 2024, it acquired the Pé Quente and Pezão exploration projects to expand the Matupá project's resources in Brazil.
