Orient Overseas (International) Limited (OOIL) is a Bermuda-incorporated investment holding company that owns and operates one of the world's largest integrated container transport and logistics businesses through its principal subsidiary Orient Overseas Container Line Limited (OOCL); OOCL provides containerized shipping services across major global trade lanes including Trans-Pacific, Trans-Atlantic, Asia-Europe, Asia-Australia, and Intra-Asia routes; supply chain management and integrated logistics solutions; terminal operations; equipment owning, leasing, depot and warehousing services; trucking; cargo consolidation and forwarding; liner and freight agency; ship owning, chartering, management, and vessel operations; property investment; portfolio investments; shipping and logistics software development; as well as AI, blockchain digital data network applications, and platform design services. The company, founded in 1969 with roots tracing to 1947 and headquartered in Wan Chai, Hong Kong, maintains extensive geographic operations across Asia, Europe, North and South America, Australia, and Africa with over 430 offices in approximately 90 countries and regions. A subsidiary of COSCO Shipping since its US$6.3 billion acquisition in 2018, OOIL continues to strengthen synergies with COSCO Shipping Lines for cost optimization and network deployment; in 2024-2025 it received seven new large container vessels and chartered six 13,000-TEU vessels while upgrading its Asia-East Coast South America network with direct services; took delivery of five 16,828-TEU vessels in the first half of 2025 for Trans-Pacific enhancement; placed orders for fourteen 18,500-TEU methanol dual-fuel vessels to advance green fleet initiatives; and reported first-half 2025 profit attributable to equity holders of US$954.2 million with total liftings up 7% and liner revenues up 4% year-on-year amid resilient non-Trans-Pacific trades.
