Business
Pharming Group N.V. (Euronext Amsterdam: PHARM; Nasdaq: PHAR) is a global biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing protein replacement therapies and precision medicines for rare, debilitating, and life-threatening diseases; its lead products include RUCONEST (recombinant human C1 esterase inhibitor) for treatment of acute hereditary angioedema attacks in adult and adolescent patients, and Joenja (leniolisib), an oral small molecule PI3Kδ inhibitor for activated phosphoinositide 3-kinase delta syndrome in adults and adolescents; the company advances a pipeline featuring investigational assets such as OTL-105, an ex-vivo autologous hematopoietic stem cell gene therapy for hereditary angioedema in collaboration with Orchard Therapeutics, and KL1333, a late-stage candidate for mitochondrial DNA-driven primary mitochondrial diseases acquired via the completed takeover of Abliva AB. Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Leiden, the Netherlands, with U.S. operations in Warren, New Jersey, Pharming serves patients across more than 30 markets in North America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific through dedicated commercial infrastructure including sales forces, market access teams, patient support programs, and medical affairs. Recent developments include the December 2024 announcement and subsequent completion of the US$66.1 million acquisition of Abliva AB, adding KL1333 to the pipeline with initiation of a second wave of recruitment for its pivotal FALCON trial; full-year 2024 revenues rose 21% to US$297.2 million, driven by record RUCONEST sales and strong Joenja performance; appointment of Fabrice Chouraqui as Chief Executive Officer in March 2025; and ongoing efforts to expand leniolisib label to pediatrics, launch in additional ex-U.S. markets, and pursue value-accretive in-licensing or acquisitions in immunology, hematology, and other rare disease areas.
