Business
Polaris Inc. (NYSE: PII) designs, engineers and manufactures powersports vehicles, including off-road vehicles such as all-terrain vehicles and side-by-side vehicles like RZR recreational models and RANGER utility vehicles; snowmobiles; motorcycles through its Indian Motorcycle subsidiary; 3-wheel moto-roadsters under the Slingshot brand; commercial, government and military vehicles including the MRZR platform, MVRS, MV700, RZR-SW and DAGOR; and marine products from brands including Bennington, Godfrey and Hurricane; as well as parts, garments, accessories and aftermarket services. Founded in 1954 in Roseau, Minnesota, by Edgar Hetteen, Allan Hetteen and David Johnson, the company is headquartered in Medina, Minnesota, with ongoing engineering and manufacturing in Roseau, and operates a global dealer network serving customers in the United States, Canada, Europe and other international markets. Polaris enhances rider experiences through Polaris Adventures premium ride programs and aftermarket offerings, while focusing on electric vehicle innovations such as partnerships with Zero Motorcycles for the RANGER Kinetic off-road vehicle and Indian eFTR youth bikes. In 2019, the company rebranded from Polaris Industries Inc. to Polaris Inc., and in October 2025 announced plans to sell a majority stake in Indian Motorcycle to private equity firm Carolwood LP, retaining a minority position with the transaction expected to close in early 2026 and boost adjusted earnings.
