Engro Holdings Limited is a diversified conglomerate holding company that operates across core industrial, digital, and logistics infrastructure sectors in Pakistan. Originally established in 1965 as Esso Pakistan Fertilizer Company Limited and headquartered in Karachi, Pakistan, the company operates through multiple operating subsidiaries, joint ventures, and associated entities spanning agricultural inputs, petrochemicals, telecommunication infrastructure, bulk liquid and gas storage terminals, and consumer foods. The company's core products and services comprise: Fertilizers and Agribusiness: Engro Holdings manufactures, markets, and distributes a comprehensive portfolio of crop nutrition, crop protection, and agricultural productivity solutions through Engro Fertilizers Limited; its core product line includes nitrogenous fertilizers marketed under the Engro Urea brand; phosphatic fertilizers, including Diammonium Phosphate (DAP) and Zorawar; blended and specialized multi-nutrient fertilizers under the Zarkhez, Zingro, and Engro NP brands; specialty micronutrients; certified hybrid seeds; crop protection chemicals; and farm-level agronomic advisory services. Petrochemicals and Polymers: Through Engro Polymer & Chemicals Limited, the company operates as the sole domestic integrated manufacturer of Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) resin, marketed under the SABZ brand for pipe manufacturing, construction materials, cable insulation, and packaging; caustic soda (chlor-alkali) used in textile processing, paper, water treatment, and soap production; Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM); hydrochloric acid; and sodium hypochlorite. Telecommunications Infrastructure: Through its digital infrastructure subsidiary, Engro Enfrashare, the company develops, owns, operates, and maintains passive telecommunication network infrastructure; it provides built-to-suit tower infrastructure, colocation tower-sharing services, continuous power management, and remote site maintenance solutions to mobile network operators throughout Pakistan. Terminals and Logistics Infrastructure: Through joint ventures and terminal entities, including Engro Vopak Terminal Limited and Engro Elengy Terminal Pakistan Limited at Port Qasim, Karachi, the company provides bulk liquid chemical handling, integrated liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) storage and offloading facilities, and specialized liquefied natural gas (LNG) floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) terminal operations. Food and Dairy Products: Through its associate company, FrieslandCampina Engro Pakistan Limited, the group offers packaged milk and dairy products, including ultra-high-temperature (UHT) treated dairy and cream under the Olper's brand; tea-creaming blends under the Tarang brand; and packaged dairy products under the Dairy Omung brand. In recent corporate developments, the company executed a major corporate reorganization and restructuring scheme of arrangement with Dawood Hercules Corporation Limited, consolidating ownership structures, streamlining asset holdings, and transitioning the overarching corporate identity to Engro Holdings Limited to optimize strategic capital deployment. In alignment with this strategic shift toward digital infrastructure, energy transition, and core manufacturing, the company entered into binding agreements to divest its thermal energy and mining asset portfolio—comprising equity holdings in Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company, Engro Powergen Thar Limited, and Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited—to a consortium of strategic energy investors. Additionally, the group continues to expand its digital connectivity footprint through substantial additions to its Enfrashare telecom tower network and invests in operational decarbonization, hydrogen utilization, and efficiency enhancements across its manufacturing and terminal facilities.
