Business
Mahmood Textile Mills Limited is a Pakistan-based vertically integrated textile manufacturing company and the flagship entity of the Mahmood Group. Founded in 1935 and incorporated as a public limited company in 1970, the company is headquartered in Multan, Pakistan. The company operates through core business segments comprising Spinning, Weaving, Apparel Manufacturing, and Captive Power Generation. Its primary products and services include: Spinning Products, comprising 100% cotton combed and carded ring-spun yarns; compact yarns; blended yarns including cotton-polyester, cotton-viscose, modal, and synthetic blends; rotor open-end yarns; slub yarns; and specialized melange and core-spun yarns for weaving and knitting; Weaving Products, comprising greige cloth and unfinished woven fabrics; plain weaves, twills, drills, satins, and high-density textiles engineered for institutional textiles, home textiles such as bed linens, and denim fabrics; Apparel and Garments, comprising casual trousers, denim jeans, non-denim bottoms, jackets, and shirts manufactured across specialized garment facilities; and Captive Power Services, comprising dedicated on-site power generation plants providing thermal, biomass, and solar electricity to power its manufacturing facilities. The company supplies domestic converters and international textile and apparel brands across export markets in Asia, Europe, North America, and the Middle East, maintaining primary production plants and cotton ginning operations across Multan and Muzaffargarh in Punjab, Pakistan. In recent developments, Mahmood Textile Mills Limited executed a strategic corporate restructuring to demerge its apparel manufacturing division into a separate, specialized wholly owned corporate entity, MG Apparel Limited, following High Court sanction to streamline operations and enhance the market agility of its LEED Platinum-certified garment facilities. The company has also substantially expanded its captive renewable energy capacity through multi-megawatt rooftop and ground-mounted solar photovoltaic installations across its industrial units to mitigate energy costs and reduce carbon emissions. Furthermore, the company authorized the divestment of its non-core equity holding in Orient Power Company (Pvt) Ltd to reallocate capital toward core manufacturing assets, while issuing rated Islamic Sukuk facilities to optimize working capital and maintain operational liquidity.
