Business
Suhail Jute Mills Limited is a Pakistan-based manufacturer and supplier of jute and jute-diversified packaging products for agricultural, commercial, and industrial sectors. The company operates through its jute manufacturing division, offering a product portfolio that includes hessian cloth; jute twine and spun yarn; standard gunny bags; B-twill sacking bags; rice and grain storage bags; sugar sacks; and heavy-duty jute fabrics used in crop harvesting, bulk transport, and industrial packaging. In addition to standard product lines, the company offers custom fabric weaving, yarn grading, and bespoke sack tailoring to cater to domestic agricultural markets, state procurement agencies, and private commodity traders across Pakistan. Founded in 1981, Suhail Jute Mills Limited is headquartered in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, and maintains its primary production facilities and manufacturing mills located at Kabul River Railway Station in Nowshera, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In recent developments, Suhail Jute Mills Limited is undergoing a comprehensive corporate restructuring and asset rationalization process approved by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) to resolve operational suspensions and working capital deficits. Under this strategic revival plan, the company has undertaken the subdivision and phased monetization of surplus, unutilized industrial land acquired from its historical merger with Colony Sarhad Textile Mills Limited. The capital generated from these asset disposals is designated to settle outstanding creditor liabilities, satisfy financial institution court decrees, and fund plant refurbishment required to recommission commercial production at its Nowshera mill. In addition, following the passing of its chief executive officer and principal shareholder, Mian Sohail Farooq Shaikh, the company has reconstituted its management leadership and secured updated shareholder approvals through extraordinary general meetings to execute asset divestments, restructure outstanding balance sheet obligations, and advance the phased resumption of its industrial operations.
