Business
Raia Drogasil S.A. (RADLY) operates as Brazil's largest pharmacy chain, engaging in the retail sale of medicines including branded, generic, over-the-counter, and specialty drugs; perfumery; personal hygiene and beauty products; cosmetics; and dermocosmetics, supplemented by health and beauty aids, household items, and private label brands. The company sells through over 3,000 Raia- and Drogasil-branded stores across all 27 Brazilian states, supported by 14 distribution centers, telesales, call centers, mobile apps, and e-commerce platforms that accounted for 15% of 2023 retail revenues; it also functions as a pharmacy benefit manager offering prenegotiated medical purchases and provides ancillary services via subsidiaries and investments such as Manipulaê for on-site compounded medications, Vitat for comprehensive health promotion, Labi Exames for laboratory analysis and vaccines, and Amplimed for electronic medical records. Founded in 2011 through the merger of Droga Raia (established 1905) and Drogasil (established 1935), Raia Drogasil maintains headquarters in São Paulo, Brazil, at Av. Corifeu de Azevedo Marques, 3097, Butantã, and employs approximately 59,000 people while serving urban and rural customers nationwide. Recent developments include a leadership transition in early 2025 with Renato Raduan assuming the presidency from Marcilio Pousada, who became board president; ongoing store expansion with 88 new pharmacies opened in Q3 2025 to boost market share; a 62% surge in digital sales during the same period; and accelerated growth from GLP-1 medication sales following the May 2025 launch of Mounjaro in Brazil, prompting UBS to upgrade its stock rating to Buy in October 2025.
