Business
Radioio, Inc. (RAIO) operates an Internet media platform that streams music and talk radio content to targeted audiences worldwide. The company broadcasts over 140 streaming channels offering customized Internet radio services across diverse music genres from high-brow classical and classic rock to acid rock, ambient, reggae, and today's pop; live and pre-recorded talk radio content delivered via advertising-supported streams; and a background music and messaging ecosystem through its IO Business Music subsidiary for business clients including quick-service restaurants, spas, hospitals, airports, hotels, casinos, auto dealers, and specialty retailers in retail, hospitality, health, and wellness verticals. Radioio serves individual listeners via websites and media streaming devices, as well as commercial customers with branded and non-branded channels carrying local and national advertising, and operates internationally from its headquarters at 475 Park Avenue South, New York, New York. Founded in 1995 as part of the early evolution from a 1998 hobby stream launched by Michael R. Roe in St. Augustine, Florida--formerly known sequentially as SHOUTcast, RadioA3, ioWorldMedia, and adopting the Radioio name in December 2013--the company went public in 2005 as the first Internet radio operator via acquisition by PowerCerv Corporation and trades on OTC Markets under RAIO. Key recent developments include a 2013 corporate restructuring that added board members Julia Miller, a former Apple and Microsoft executive, and Zachary McAdoo, principal of McAdoo Capital, who now serves as Chairman, President, CEO, and CFO; a merger with its operating entity and ticker change to RAIO in early 2014; a strategic shift by March 2014 to emphasize talk radio programming with personalities such as Bubba the Love Sponge while de-emphasizing consumer music streams; and content delivery partnerships including with Triton Digital since December 2013 and earlier alliances with Limelight Networks, Apple for MPEG-4 broadcasts, and SoundExchange for royalty-sharing in 2009, with no major funding rounds, acquisitions, or product launches announced in 2024 or 2025.
