Business
Canada Rare Earth Corp. operates a global essential minerals business focused on rare earth minerals and products, engaging in commodity trading, project development, and processing facility acquisitions. The company offers high-purity simple rare earth oxides, nano and large particle rare earth oxides, rare earth fluorides, custom rare earth products, and mineral concentrates; these materials serve industries including high-end electronics, lighting solutions, ceramics and glass, catalytic and cracking applications, magnets, and atomic energy. Canada Rare Earth Corp., founded in 1987 and headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, maintains operations across Asia, South America, Africa, and other regions, with key development activities at the Bom Futuro tin tailings project in Brazil's Rondônia state, which contains cassiterite (tin), zircon, ilmenite, wolframite, and rare earth-bearing minerals. In October 2025, the company announced the termination of its previously disclosed January 2025 agreement to acquire a 70% interest in a rare earth processing facility, while continuing to pursue alternative downstream capabilities, Bom Futuro commercialization or partnerships, and a supply network through rare earth sources, separation facilities, and ties to international manufacturers. Formerly known as Rare Earth Metals Inc. until its name change in February 2013, Canada Rare Earth Corp. trades on the TSX Venture Exchange under the ticker LL and OTC Markets under RAREF.
