Business
RBC Bearings Incorporated manufactures and markets highly engineered precision plain, roller and ball bearings; plain bearings including rod end bearings, spherical plain bearings and journal bearings; roller bearings such as tapered roller bearings, needle roller bearings, track rollers and cam followers; ball bearings encompassing high precision aerospace, airframe control, thin section and industrial varieties; mounted bearing products like mounted ball, roller and plain bearings; power transmission components including mechanical drive components, couplings and conveyor components; engineered hydraulics and valves for aircraft and submarine applications; fasteners; precision mechanical components; and machine tool collets, with a focus on highly technical or regulated products for specialized markets requiring sophisticated design, testing and manufacturing capabilities. The company operates through Aerospace/Defense and Industrial segments, serving commercial and defense aerospace, construction, mining, forestry, energy, agricultural, food and beverage, metals and mining material handling, chemicals, oil and gas production, warehousing and logistics, semiconductor equipment, waste and water management, and rail and transportation applications via direct sales force and a network of distributors. Founded in 1919 and headquartered in Oxford, Connecticut, RBC Bearings maintains 53 facilities across five countries including manufacturing in 31 locations in the United States, Mexico, France, Germany, Poland and China. In May 2025, the company agreed to acquire VACCO Industries for $310 million to enhance its offerings in highly engineered valves, regulators, manifolds and subsystems for space and naval defense channels, with integration into the Aerospace/Defense segment anticipated following regulatory approvals; this follows the 2023 acquisition of Specline for precision bearings in commercial and defense aerospace markets and ongoing capacity expansions to address strong demand in aerospace OEMs, aftermarket services and defense programs.
