Business
Royal Helium Ltd. is a Canada-based exploration, production and infrastructure company that focuses on the development, production and sale of helium and associated industrial gases from its extensive land holdings in southern Saskatchewan and southeastern Alberta; its core offerings include helium exploration across over 600,000 acres of prospective permits and leases in helium-rich formations such as the Duperow, Souris River and Deadwood, helium processing at the Steveville facility in Brooks, Alberta with capacity for 15,000 Mcf/day of raw gas, and purified helium sales under long-term offtake agreements with major global consumers. The company, founded in 2008 and headquartered in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, operates primarily in the oil and gas exploration and production sector targeting helium reservoirs carried with nitrogen for a low greenhouse gas footprint compared to natural gas-based extraction methods, serving high-demand markets in healthcare, semiconductors, aerospace and industrial applications across North America. Subsidiaries include Royal Helium Exploration Limited and Imperial Helium Corp. In November 2025, Royal completed a reverse takeover transaction via a three-cornered amalgamation with Keranic Industrial Gas Inc. under a Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act proceeding, pursuant to which an affiliate of AirLife Gases Private Limited acquired approximately 52.9% control as strategic investor with rights to majority board representation, naming rights and exclusive offtake for all helium production on market terms; the deal included financings raising funds through subscription receipts and shares, an 8:1 share consolidation, introduction of Class A voting and Class B preferred shares, vesting of non-core liabilities into a residual entity, and plans to relist Class A shares on the TSX Venture Exchange while restarting Steveville production within 12 weeks.
