In March 2025, Renault Group announces a framework agreement with Nissan under which it acquires Nissan's 51% stake in Renault Nissan Automotive India Private Ltd, gaining 100% ownership of the Chennai facility to accelerate international expansion with new models on CMF-B platform; Nissan selects Renault through Ampere to develop and produce a Twingo derivative for Europe from 2026; the companies amend their alliance agreement to reduce cross-shareholding lock-up to 10% from 15% and release Nissan from Ampere investment commitment, with changes effective by May 2025.
