Business
ReNew Energy Global plc develops, builds, owns and operates utility-scale wind power, solar power, hydro power and firm power projects in India. The company generates power through non-conventional and renewable energy sources across four main segments including wind power, solar power, hydro power and transmission lines; it offers end-to-end solutions such as engineering, procurement and construction services, operation and maintenance services, consultancy services, value-added energy offerings through digitalization, storage solutions and carbon markets. ReNew maintains a large operational portfolio exceeding 18 GW of clean energy capacity spread across more than 150 projects in ten Indian states including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and others, with a focus on corporate power projects and round-the-clock renewable energy supply to utilities and commercial customers. Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Gurugram, India with its holding company incorporated in London, United Kingdom, the Nasdaq-listed entity (RNW, RNWWW) rebranded from ReNew Power to ReNew in February 2023. Recent developments include receiving a best and final non-binding buyout proposal in October 2025 from a consortium comprising Masdar, CPP Investments, ADIA and founder Sumant Sinha at $1.08 per share representing a 15.3% premium over the initial offer; announcing a $9.33 billion investment commitment in November 2025 for solar, wind, storage and green fuels projects in Andhra Pradesh; achieving a commissioned portfolio of 10.7 GW and generating 22 billion kWh of clean energy in FY25 while maintaining carbon neutrality; and earning India's highest score in S&P Global’s Corporate Sustainability Assessment at 83 placing it in the global top 10% of energy companies along with the Reuters Global Sustainability Award 2025 for Social Impact.
