- ArborGen Holdings Limited, a New Zealand-based global supplier of advanced genetics tree seedlings for the forestry industry, produces conventional and next-generation seedlings including loblolly pine, radiata pine, eucalyptus, and other hardwood and softwood species engineered for improved growth rates, yields, stress tolerance, disease resistance, and wood quality; offers forestry expertise, reforestation best practices, and customer support to landowners, consultants, and planters; and maintains 16 commercial-scale seedling nurseries, 10 seed orchards, and an annual production capacity of approximately 500 million seedlings. The company, founded in 2000 through a partnership of WestRock, International Paper, and Rubicon, is headquartered in Summerville, South Carolina, with major operations in the US South and Brazil, where it serves over 2,000 customers annually in traditional timber markets and emerging carbon offset sectors. Subsidiaries include Rubicon Forests Holdings Limited and Rubicon Industries USA LLC. Recent developments feature leadership restructuring with the appointment of CEO Justin Birch in 2023 and CFO Christina Green in 2024 to enhance operational efficiency; the acquisition of a nursery in Piauí, Brazil, in October 2024 to expand high-value protected clone production and diversify revenue; a $500,000 share buyback completed in January 2025 signaling confidence in long-term prospects; and investments in US nursery expansions including container capacity and hardwood cooler space amid a 26.54% FY25 revenue increase despite US segment challenges.
