Safilo Group S.p.A. Safilo Group S.p.A. designs, produces and distributes sunglasses, prescription frames, sports eyewear, goggles and helmets worldwide through its own brands and licensed brands; its core own brands include Carrera, Smith, Polaroid and Blenders Eyewear, while its licensed portfolio encompasses fashion luxury names such as Boss, Carolina Herrera, Etro, Isabel Marant, Missoni, Moschino and Victoria Beckham (distributed from January 1, 2026), lifestyle brands including Dsquared2, Eyewear by David Beckham, Marc Jacobs, Levi's, Tommy Hilfiger, Kate Spade New York and Fossil, and sports offerings from Under Armour; the company operates five international design studios in Padua, Milan, New York, Hong Kong and Portland, three wholly owned production facilities, three main distribution centers in Padua, Denver and Hong Kong, a network of subsidiaries in 40 countries and distribution partners in 70 additional countries reaching approximately 100,000 points of sale including eyecare retailers, chains, department stores, boutiques and sporting goods stores. Founded in 1934 when Guglielmo Tabacchi acquired an eyewear facility dating back to 1878 in Calalzo di Cadore, Italy, the company is headquartered in Padua, Veneto, Italy, and employs over 3,800 people while maintaining more than 145 years of eyewear manufacturing tradition with a focus on Italian design, innovation, sustainability and digital transformation through B2B and B2C platforms like You&Safilo. In recent developments, Safilo Group S.p.A. secured a perpetual license for Eyewear by David Beckham in May 2024, elevating own brands to approximately 50 percent of sales; renewed key licenses including Missoni until 2029, Marc Jacobs until 2031, Tommy Hilfiger, Kate Spade, Boss, Hugo and others through 2030-2031, and signed a ten-year global eyewear licensing agreement with Victoria Beckham; formed a partnership with Spaarkly in February 2024 for augmented reality tools like Virtual Try-On, had short-term science-based sustainability targets validated by SBTi, renewed agreements with Kering Eyewear until 2029, Dsquared2, Carolina Herrera and Under Armour, sold Lenti Srl, launched a shares purchase programme and concluded its 2024 share buyback on November 22, 2024.
