Business
Sotera Health Company (Nasdaq: SHC), a leading global provider of mission-critical sterilization solutions, lab testing, and advisory services for the healthcare industry, operates through three primary businesses: Sterigenics, which delivers outsourced terminal sterilization and irradiation services utilizing gamma, ethylene oxide (EtO), electron beam (E-beam), and X-ray modalities for medical devices, pharmaceuticals, food safety, and advanced applications across 48 facilities in 13 countries; Nordion, which supplies reliable Cobalt-60 sources and gamma irradiators essential for the gamma sterilization process; and Nelson Labs, which offers comprehensive microbiological and analytical chemistry testing along with advisory services conducted at 12 global laboratory locations. The company serves approximately 5,000 customers in over 50 countries, including 40 of the top 50 medical device firms and 9 of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies, safeguarding the safety of over 190 million patients and practitioners annually with nearly 200 years of combined expertise across its units headquartered in Broadview Heights, Ohio. In recent developments, Sotera Health completed a $307 million follow-on equity offering in September 2025 by issuing 20 million shares to fund growth initiatives, capacity expansions, and compliance efforts amid rising sterilization demand and regulatory pressures on EtO emissions; announced a secondary offering of 30 million shares in November 2025 by investors Warburg Pincus and GTCR; raised its full-year 2025 revenue guidance reflecting strong end-market growth; and continues investments in high-efficiency sterilization facilities while navigating extended U.S. EPA EtO regulation timelines.
