Founded in 2001 by entrepreneur Hui Wing Mau and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2006, Shimao Group Holdings is headquartered at 38th Floor, Tower 1, Lippo Centre, 89 Queensway, Hong Kong, with significant operations centered in Shanghai. The company, formerly known as Shimao Property Holdings Limited, maintains a subsidiary relationship with Shimao Services Holdings, a leading provider of integrated property management and community life services covering over 250 million square meters under management across more than 120 cities as of recent data. It is controlled by Gemfair Investments Limited. Recent developments include the completion in April 2025 of a landmark US$11.5 billion offshore debt restructuring via a Hong Kong court-sanctioned scheme of arrangement, supported by 98.75% of scheme creditors and advised by Appleby, addressing obligations amid the Chinese property sector crisis.
