Business
Ravelin Properties REIT (TSX: RPR.UN; OTC: SLTTF) is an unincorporated, open-ended real estate investment trust governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario that acquires, owns and operates a diversified portfolio of 46 income-producing commercial properties totaling approximately 6.6 million square feet of leasable area across Canada, the United States and Ireland; the portfolio includes office buildings, data centres, industrial facilities, retail spaces, residential rental properties, surface parking lots and a hotel, with a focus on well-located assets leased primarily to government entities and high-credit tenants in major markets such as Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, Chicago and Atlantic Canada. Founded in 2012 and headquartered at 130 Adelaide Street West, Suite 3401, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the REIT targets stable rental income through long-term leases, active asset management initiatives encompassing lease renewals, tenant improvements, energy-efficiency upgrades and strategic capital investments to address elevated vacancy levels and enhance property appeal. In recent developments, the REIT completed management internalization effective January 1, 2025 following its rebranding from Slate Office REIT at the end of 2024, secured a debt restructuring transaction in March 2025 whereby G2S2 Capital acquired approximately $600 million in secured debt as part of a recapitalization plan supported by the investor group, acquired full ownership of Commerce West and Gateway Centre industrial properties in the Greater Toronto Area in September 2025 by purchasing the remaining 25% co-ownership interest, expanded its leadership team in January 2025 with key appointments including Robert Hibberd as Chief Financial Officer and Rachna Morgado as Chief Operating Officer, and experienced a board change on December 4, 2025 with the resignation of trustee Charles Pellerin; additionally, the Toronto Stock Exchange lifted a delisting review in 2025 after the REIT successfully restructured the majority of its debt.
