Business
Sierra Madre Gold and Silver Ltd. is a Canadian precious metals mining company focused on the exploration, development, and production of silver and gold deposits in Mexico. The company operates the flagship La Guitarra silver-gold mine complex in the Temascaltepec mining district of Estado de Mexico, covering 39,714 hectares and featuring a fully permitted 500 tonnes per day processing mill, two underground mining centers, three past-producing zones, and over 100 known epithermal veins with district-scale potential; it also advances the Tepic project in Nayarit, spanning 2,612.5 hectares and hosting low-sulphidation epithermal gold and silver mineralization with opportunities to expand historic resources through ongoing drilling. Founded in 2017 and headquartered in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Sierra Madre targets mid-tier producer status amid rising global silver demand. Recent developments include the restart of commercial production at La Guitarra on January 1, 2025, following its acquisition from First Majestic Silver Corp. in 2023; the closing of a C$19.5 million private placement in July 2025 led by Beacon Securities with participation from Eric Sprott to fund mine expansion and East District exploration; initiation of a US$3.5 million exploration program at the East District in October 2025; commencement of underground development at the Nazareno silver-gold mine within La Guitarra in September 2025; ramp-up of the Coloso mine and plant expansion underway as of Q3 2025 financial results; and acquisition of the La Tigra project in Nayarit to bolster regional assets.
