Business
Siemens Energy AG (SMNEY) develops and manufactures energy technology products and solutions, including gas turbines, steam turbines, wind turbines through majority-owned Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, generators, transformers, compressors, electrolyzers; power transmission and distribution equipment such as switchgear, high-voltage direct-current systems, circuit breakers; and services for power plant operation, modernization, and grid infrastructure. The company operates across the energy value chain from generation and transmission to storage and supports the transition to sustainable energy systems for utilities, industrial customers, and governments worldwide, with principal activities in Europe, North America, Asia-Pacific, and emerging markets. Founded in 2020 as a spin-off from Siemens AG's Gas and Power division and headquartered in Munich, Germany, Siemens Energy employs over 100,000 people and maintains a majority stake in Siemens Gamesa. Recent developments include a 10-year power purchase agreement with EnBW for green electricity from the 40.8 MWp Frankenförde solar park starting 2026 to supply a quarter of its German sites' needs; a €220 million ($256 million) expansion of its Nuremberg transformer factory, adding 16,000 square meters and 50% capacity by 2028 while creating 350 jobs, supported by €20 million from the Bavarian government; replacement of an €11 billion German government-backed facility with a new €9 billion bank facility plus guarantees to underpin large-scale projects; acquisition of a joint venture interest in RWG from Wood Group; and fulfillment of all fiscal 2025 financial commitments with raised mid-term outlook amid record orders.
