Business
Pharos Energy plc is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company focused on sustainable growth and returns to stakeholders through a portfolio of production, development, and exploration assets in Vietnam and Egypt. The company holds a 45% working interest in the El Fayum Concession in Egypt's Western Desert, producing oil from 10 fields located 80 kilometers southwest of Cairo; a 29.7% unitized interest in the TGT field and a 25% working interest in the Ca Ngu Vang (CNV) field in Vietnam's Block 9-2; and additional development and exploration interests across Southeast Asia and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, deriving maximum revenue from its Southeast Asia segment. Founded in 1997 and headquartered at Eastcastle House, 27/28 Eastcastle Street, London, United Kingdom, Pharos Energy operates primarily in Vietnam and Egypt, with exploration opportunities in Israel. In September 2025, the company secured approval from the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation for a new consolidated concession agreement merging its existing 45% interests in the El Fayum and North Beni Suef concessions with three additional exploration areas, extending the term to 20 years (15 years initial plus a five-year option), boosting net 2P reserves by approximately 3 million barrels or 25%, and committing to drill 11 wells over four years with a net capital spend of $9-10.5 million. Earlier in 2025, Pharos repaid all debt in September, received $24 million from EGPC reducing receivables to $31.1 million, and deepened partnerships with Petrovietnam to explore expanded collaboration in new Vietnamese blocks; it also achieved extensions of producing licenses in two Vietnam fields, increasing proven and probable reserves by about 10%. Year-to-date production through December 2024 averaged 5,760 barrels of oil equivalent per day in line with guidance, with a cash balance of $18 million.
