- Yunnan Aluminium Co., Ltd. (000807.SZ) manufactures and sells aluminum products primarily in China through three main segments: Alumina, Primary Aluminum, and Other. The company mines and purchases bauxite and other raw materials to produce and sell alumina; electrolyzes alumina into primary aluminum while producing and selling carbon products, aluminum alloys, and other electrolytic aluminum products; and provides logistics services along with alumina trading. Its core products include aluminum oxide; anodic carbon for aluminum and graphitized cathodes; aluminum ingots for remelting, refined aluminum ingots for remelting, cast aluminum ingots, and cast aluminum alloy ingots; deformed aluminum and aluminum alloy round ingots, flat ingots, sheets, strips, and foil products; electrical round aluminum rods; and aluminum and aluminum alloy welding materials and wires, serving industries such as transportation, aerospace, construction, packaging, electronics, electrical appliances, machinery manufacturing, automobiles, and rail transportation. Founded in 1970 and headquartered in Kunming, Yunnan Province, the company operates principally in China as a subsidiary of Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco). In late 2025, Yunnan Aluminium agreed to acquire additional equity stakes totaling approximately RMB 2.27 billion from Yunnan Metallurgical Group in three subsidiaries—Yunlv Yongxin (28.7%), Yunlv Runxin (27.3%), and Yunlv Hongxin (30%)—increasing its ownership to 96.1%, 97.5%, and 100%, respectively, to bolster equity-based primary aluminum capacity by 154,500 tonnes annually, centralize operations, and expand into bauxite development. Additionally, in November 2025, the company participated in a RMB 906.45 million investment with Chalco subsidiaries into Yunnan Aluminum Foil to develop high-precision foil, sheet, and strip production, enhancing downstream processing capabilities and alloying rates in alignment with China's dual-carbon goals.
