Toast, Inc. (NYSE: TOST) provides a cloud-based, all-in-one digital technology platform purpose-built for restaurants, offering software-as-a-service (SaaS) products and financial technology solutions including point-of-sale (POS) systems such as Toast POS, Flex terminals, Tap payment devices, Toast Hub and receipt printers; payments processing with EMV-compliant terminals, contactless options and fraud monitoring; operations management encompassing team and vendor management, multi-location oversight, kitchen display systems, payroll, inventory and workforce tools; digital ordering and delivery integrations; marketing and loyalty programs with email campaigns, promotions and customer segmentation; online ordering, reservations competing with OpenTable and Resy; and financing via Toast Capital loans. The company serves full-service restaurants, quick-service outlets, enterprise chains, retail businesses, hybrid models and new ventures across dine-in, takeout, delivery, catering and retail service types, primarily in the United States with operations extending to Ireland, India and internationally; Toast powers approximately 140,000 locations and connects front-of-house and back-of-house functions to streamline operations, boost revenue and enhance guest experiences. Founded in 2011 by Steve Fredette, Aman Narang and Jonathan Grimm and headquartered at 333 Summer Street in Boston's Seaport District, Massachusetts, Toast employs around 5,700 people under CEO Aman Narang. Recent developments include large-scale enterprise expansions with agreements to deploy its platform across nearly 200 Nordstrom dining locations, 500 Perkins and Huddle House sites under Ascent Hospitality Management and TGI Fridays outlets; a multi-year global strategic partnership with Uber Technologies announced in 2025 to innovate digital ordering, manage off-premise sales and support joint go-to-market efforts in the US, Canada and international markets; addition of approximately 7,500-8,500 net locations quarterly in 2025 driving annual recurring revenue past $2.0 billion with 30% growth; achievement of positive profitability, $306 million free cash flow in fiscal 2024 and projected 23%-25% recurring gross profit growth for 2025; the 2023 acquisition of Delphi Display Systems for drive-thru technology; a headquarters relocation to the Seaport District in early 2024; and the appointment of Anu Bharadwaj, President at Atlassian, to its board of directors in 2025.
