Broadmedia Corporation (4347.T) is a Japan-based multimedia distribution and technology company primarily engaged in content services, education, production, broadcasting, and network solutions. Established on September 5, 1996, and listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Standard Market since March 8, 2002, the company maintains its headquarters at Aoyama Tower Place, 6F, 8-4-14 Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan, with additional offices in Chuo-ku and Minato-ku; it operates predominantly in Japan across consumer and B2B markets, employing approximately 748 people. The company delivers a diverse portfolio of core products and services segmented into education, media content, studio and production, broadcasting, technology, and others. In education, it offers online high schools through the Renaissance High School Group accessible via smartphones and tablets, Japanese language training at Renaissance Japanese Language Academy using a "Teach Japanese in Japanese" approach, AI and programming courses via Tech Camp for career changers, and Tech Camp for High School Students to build professional IT skills. Media content includes game publishing by The Pocket Company for platforms such as Nintendo Switch, PlayStation VR, and Meta Quest with original and licensed international indie titles; professional esports via team CAG OSAKA; and fishing-focused TV channels Fishing Vision, BS Fishing Vision, plus video-on-demand service Fishing Vision Club. Studio and production encompasses subtitle creation including Japanese subtitles, dubbing, hearing-impaired subtitles, audio descriptions for the visually impaired, and program promotion; B2B offerings feature cybersecurity with WAF, DDoS protection, managed and zero-trust services; CDN and delivery as an official Akamai reseller in Japan for webpages, video, and large files; global WAN optimization via Aryaka partnership; AI retail solutions like Vue.ai for image analysis; TV commercial distribution systems; digital cinema support with DCP delivery, equipment, and management software; cloud gaming platform G-cluster for multi-device streaming; enterprise system development and digital transformation using AI; Wi-Fi construction for hotels, hospitals, and facilities; and a screening room for previews, press conferences, and productions. In broadcasting and technology, Broadmedia supplies fishing programs, content for BS/CS broadcasting, cable TV, contents delivery network services, digital cinema, and hotel internet; network sales involve ISP, broadband lines, and cell phone services. Recent major changes include the resolution on November 27, 2025, to spin off its Studio & Production Group operations—covering Japanese subtitles, dubbing, accessibility subtitles, audio descriptions, and program promotion—into a new wholly owned subsidiary, Broadmedia Studios Corporation, effective April 1, 2026, via a simplified incorporation-type company split to enhance profit management, capital efficiency, and strategic flexibility under its Medium-Term Initiatives targeting 10% operating profit ratio and 30% ROE. In 2024, the company launched a professional IT engineering programming course for high school students through Renaissance High School Group and div Inc.'s TECH CAMP High School in June; formed a business alliance with HELLO! MOVIE Inc. to globally roll out an accessibility system for movie theaters; executed multiple treasury stock acquisitions, disposals for director compensation, cancellations, and related notices; revised financial forecasts and transitioned to a company with Audit & Supervisory Committee structure; and completed shareholder incentive program abolition alongside stock repurchases.
