The company offers senior secured loans including first-lien, second-lien and unitranche; mezzanine debt; non-control structured equity; common equity; and corporate bonds, with a focus on co-investments targeting companies with enterprise values of $50 million to over $1 billion and EBITDA between $10 million and $250 million. It serves industries such as business services, software and technology, healthcare, energy, consumer and retail, manufacturing, industrials, royalty-related businesses, education and specialty finance, supporting organic growth, acquisitions, market or product expansion, restructuring, recapitalizations and refinancing through transaction sizes of $15 million to $350 million. Founded in 2010 and headquartered at 2100 McKinney Avenue, Suite 1500 in Dallas, Texas, the company functions as the North American direct lending platform of Sixth Street, a leading global investment firm, and is externally managed by Sixth Street Specialty Lending Advisers, LLC. In March 2025, Sixth Street Specialty Lending amended its senior secured revolving credit facility for the sixteenth time, extending the revolving period to March 2, 2029, the maturity to March 4, 2030 and increasing the uncommitted accordion feature to $2.5 billion from $2.0 billion to enhance liquidity and support investment activities.
