TDK Corporation (TSE: 6762) manufactures and sells electronic components, sensors, power supplies, magnetic products and recording media worldwide. Founded in 1935 and headquartered in Tokyo, Japan, the company offers a broad portfolio of products including ceramic capacitors, aluminum electrolytic capacitors, film capacitors, inductors, transformers, high-frequency components such as band-pass filters and baluns, varistors, thermistors, magnets including neodymium and ferrite types, sensors, MEMS microphones, lithium-ion batteries, DC-DC converters, AC-DC converters, power modules, electromagnetic buzzers, solid-state drives, and noise suppression components; it serves key markets in information and communications technology with RF components and power solutions for 5G infrastructure and smartphones, automotive applications including xEV power supplies, onboard chargers, ADAS systems and connectivity modules, and industrial and energy sectors encompassing renewable energy systems, industrial robots, railways and factory automation. TDK operates over 250 manufacturing, R&D and sales sites across more than 30 countries including major facilities in Japan, the United States, Europe and Asia. In recent developments, TDK Ventures invested in EdgeCortix's Series B round in 2025 to accelerate mass-production of SAKURA-II AI co-processors and the SAKURA-X chiplet platform, led funding for Faction's driverless vehicle technology in 2023 with expansions into 2024-2025, backed Ultraviolette for electric motorcycle advancement in India, invested in Mixx Technologies for AI optical interconnects, and established a collaboration agreement with Gelion and the Max Planck Institute for next-generation battery technologies; additionally, the company signed an agreement with NIPPON CHEMICAL INDUSTRIAL in November 2025 to discuss a joint venture for material development, announced the transfer of its new development business for automotive power supplies to Astemo Ltd. effective April 2026, and celebrated its 90th anniversary while updating its medium-term plan in November 2025.
