Business
TELUS Corporation is a leading Canadian telecommunications holding company that provides wireless, internet, voice, television and digital health services primarily in Canada. Headquartered in Vancouver, British Columbia, the company traces its origins to the 1990 privatization of Alberta Government Telephones, with a key 1999 merger with BC Tel expanding its national footprint; it operates through subsidiaries including TELUS Communications, TELUS Mobility, TELUS Health, TELUS Digital and TELUS Agriculture & Consumer Goods, serving consumers, businesses, governments and global enterprises with approximately 15.2 million customer connections and $16 billion in annual revenue. Core offerings encompass mobility services on a nationwide 5G/LTE network including voice, data plans, IoT solutions and flanker brand Koodo Mobile; PureFibre high-speed internet, Optik TV, home phone, SmartHome security and online security bundles for consumers and SMBs; enterprise solutions in cloud, cybersecurity, IoT and partner programs; TELUS Health virtual care, electronic medical records, pharmacy management, employee assistance programs and health benefits; TELUS Digital customer experience outsourcing, IT services, AI data solutions and content moderation across Philippines, UK, Central America and Eastern Europe; and TELUS Agriculture farm management software, supply chain traceability and analytics for agribusinesses. Recent developments include closing a 2025 partnership with La Caisse du dépôt et placement du Québec, which acquired a 49.9% stake in tower operator Terrion for $1.26 billion to reduce net debt and support infrastructure expansion across British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec; completing the privatization and acquisition of TELUS Digital in 2025 for enhanced AI and SaaS integration across telecom, health and agriculture segments; ongoing 5G network rollout covering 85% of Canada's population; and continued investments in digital health and agriculture ventures.
