Business
ASE Technology Holding Co., Ltd. (NYSE: ASX; TAIEX: 3711.TW) provides semiconductor manufacturing services in assembly, testing, materials, and system integration. The company offers core products and services including IC packaging such as fan-out wafer-level packaging (FO-WLP), wafer-level chip-scale packaging (WL-CSP), flip chip, 2.5D and 3D packaging, system-in-package (SiP), and copper wire bonding; IC testing encompassing front-end engineering testing, wafer probing, and final testing; and electronic manufacturing services (EMS) covering PCB assembly, system assembly, box build, design services, logistics, and repair. ASE Technology Holding serves fabless semiconductor companies, integrated device manufacturers (IDMs), foundries, OEMs, and ODMs across communications, computing, consumer electronics, automotive, industrial, and healthcare sectors; it operates as the world's largest outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) provider with facilities in Taiwan, China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Mexico, the United States, Poland, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Tunisia, and the Czech Republic. Founded in 1984 by brothers Jason Chang and Richard Chang with headquarters in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, the company resulted from the 2018 combination of Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) and Siliconware Precision Industries (SPIL), which continue as subsidiaries alongside Universal Scientific Industrial (USI). In October 2025, ASE Technology Holding signed a binding memorandum of understanding with Analog Devices, Inc. to acquire its Penang, Malaysia manufacturing facility, enter a long-term supply agreement for manufacturing services, and pursue co-investment in facility upskilling to enhance global supply chain resilience and IC packaging capabilities for high-performance analog and mixed-signal chips.
