UBS Group AG is a leading global wealth manager and universal bank headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, with registered offices in Zurich and Basel; founded through the 1998 merger of Union Bank of Switzerland (1862) and Swiss Bank Corporation (1872), it restructured as a holding company in 2014 owning 100% of UBS AG and operates worldwide in over 50 markets with a focus on Switzerland, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas. Recent developments include the 2023 completion of its regulatory-assisted acquisition of Credit Suisse Group AG, enhancing wealth, asset management, and capital-light operations with ongoing integration targeting US$13 billion in gross cost savings by end-2026, including branch consolidations, client migrations, and platform transitions; a 2025 strategic collaboration with India's 360 ONE WAM Ltd involving the transfer of onshore Indian wealth operations, acquisition of warrants for a 4.95% stake, and joint client access to onshore-offshore solutions; and a partnership with General Atlantic to expand private credit capabilities within its Investment Bank.
