Business
Vietnam Southern Food Corporation - Joint Stock Company (Vinafood II) is a Vietnam-based agribusiness enterprise primarily engaged in the procurement, processing, storage, domestic distribution, and international export of rice and agricultural food commodities. Founded in 1976 and headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, the corporation operates as a central pillar of Vietnam's national food security and global agricultural trade, catering to domestic consumers, retail distribution networks, industrial food manufacturers, and government procurement agencies across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, the European Union, Australia, and the Americas. The company organizes its operations into key business divisions comprising Grain Trading and Export; Agricultural Processing and Foodstuffs; Packaging Manufacturing; and Maritime Logistics and Warehousing. Its systematic product and service portfolio includes rice processing and export, delivering long-grain white rice across multiple broken grades, jasmine rice, japonica, glutinous rice, DT8, Nang Hoa, Ham Chau, and premium aromatic varieties such as ST21, ST24, and ST25; flour milling and food processing, producing high-grade culinary wheat flour, bakery flour, coarse flour for animal feed, and processed seafood products including dried and frozen basa and anchovies; industrial packaging solutions, manufacturing woven polypropylene (PP) sacks and laminated packaging for agricultural storage and transport; and integrated logistics services, operating deep-water seaport terminals, container freight stations, river transport fleets, automated grain silos, bonded warehouses, and customs transit facilities. In recent strategic developments, Vinafood II has been executing its comprehensive 2021–2025 corporate restructuring initiative overseen by state management authorities to streamline subsidiary operations, resolve equitization procedures, divest non-core assets, and optimize capital efficiency across its Mekong Delta processing network. Operationally, the corporation formed a comprehensive financial partnership with the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) to access structured supply chain financing, debt restructuring, and digital banking solutions. Furthermore, Vinafood II entered into a strategic collaboration with MobiFone Telecommunications Corporation to accelerate enterprise-wide digital transformation across supply chain logistics and inventory control, while continuing to secure large-scale bilateral rice delivery contracts with international state trading entities, including Indonesia's National Logistics Agency (Perum BULOG) and government procurement agencies across Southeast and South Asia.
