Business
United States Agriculture Index Fund (USAG) is an exchange-traded fund that seeks to reflect the daily percentage changes of the SummerHaven Dynamic Agriculture Index Total Return (SDAI), less the fund's expenses. The SDAI provides exposure to a diversified basket of 14 agricultural commodity futures contracts, including six grains (soybeans, corn, soft red winter wheat, hard red winter wheat, soybean oil, soybean meal, canola), five soft commodities (sugar, cocoa, coffee, cotton), and three livestock contracts (live cattle, feeder cattle, lean hogs); the index dynamically selects and overweights seven contracts each month based on low inventory signals while underweighting the others from base weights determined by market liquidity and economic importance. USAG holds futures contracts in these commodities, collateralized primarily by short-term U.S. Treasury securities, to deliver targeted performance for investors seeking agriculture sector exposure. Sponsored by United States Commodity Funds LLC (USCF), a provider of commodity exchange-traded products headquartered in Oakland, California, USAG was launched in 2011 and trades on U.S. exchanges accessible globally. The SDAI is owned and maintained by SummerHaven Index Management, LLC, with calculation and publication by NYSE Arca. The fund primarily serves institutional and retail investors targeting commodity futures in agriculture; it operates without specified subsidiaries but aligns with USCF's broader portfolio of sector-specific ETFs focused on energy, metals, and agriculture segments. No major strategic changes, such as acquisitions, funding rounds, partnerships, new product launches, or operational shifts, have been reported for USAG or its sponsor USCF in the last 1-2 years; the fund maintains its core tracking methodology amid ongoing volatility in agricultural commodity markets influenced by global trade dynamics.
