Business
Americas Gold and Silver Corporation engages in the acquisition, exploration, development, operation, and production of precious and base metal properties primarily in North America. The company produces silver, gold, copper, lead, zinc, and antimony concentrates and doré bars from its key operations, including the Cosalá Operations' San Rafael mine in Sinaloa, Mexico, yielding high-grade silver, zinc, lead, and copper; the Galena Complex in Idaho, USA, the nation's leading active antimony producer and a high-grade silver mine; and the Relief Canyon mine in Nevada, USA, focused on gold production with ongoing development strategies. It sells these products to smelters, refiners, and commodity traders, targeting industrial users and markets leveraged to precious metal prices. Founded in 1998 and headquartered in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, the company formed its current structure in 2019 through the merger of Americas Silver Corporation and Pershing Gold Corporation, with operations spanning Mexico and the United States. Recent developments include taking full ownership of the Galena Complex in December 2024 via a transaction with Eric Sprott and management; securing a C$50 million deal and US$100 million term loan in 2024 and 2025 respectively, positioning Eric Sprott as the largest shareholder at approximately 20%; entering a five-year multi-metal offtake agreement with Ocean Partners for Galena concentrates; closing a US$132.25 million bought deal financing on December 4, 2025, to fund the pending acquisition of the neighboring Crescent Silver Mine in Idaho for US$65 million; and advancing operational upgrades at Galena such as early hoist motor replacements and achieving 99%+ antimony extraction from copper concentrates.
