AGRANA Beteiligungs-AG operates as an Austria-based holding company focused on processing agricultural raw materials into food and industrial products across its three core segments of Sugar, Starch, and Fruit. The Fruit segment manufactures custom fruit preparations, juice concentrates, and purees from strawberries, apples, peaches, apricots, grapes, bananas, pineapples, and tropical blends for dairy, bakery, ice cream, beverages, and confectionery applications; it ranks as the world market leader in fruit preparations and a top global producer of juice concentrates with operations spanning Europe, North and South America, Asia, Australia, and the Middle East and Africa. Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Vienna, Austria, AGRANA employs approximately 9,000 people across more than 50 locations worldwide, generating annual revenues of around EUR 3.5 billion; subsidiaries include AGRANA Zucker GmbH, AGRANA Stärke GmbH, AGRANA Fruit S.A.S., and AUSTRIA JUICE GmbH. Recent developments include the completion of its acquisition of the remaining 49.99% stake in AUSTRIA JUICE GmbH from RWA Raiffeisen Ware Austria in 2024 to consolidate juice operations; a joint venture agreement between AGRANA Stärke GmbH and Ingredion in Romania to expand starch production capabilities; and the acquisition of Mercator-Emba d.o.o.
