WESCO International, Inc. provides business-to-business distribution, logistics services, and supply chain solutions focused on electrical, industrial, communications, maintenance, repair and operating (MRO), original equipment manufacturer (OEM) products, construction materials, and advanced shipping services; it operates through three main segments including Electrical and Electronic Solutions (EES) serving construction, industrial, and OEM markets with products such as wire and cable, lighting, and automation solutions; Communications and Security Solutions (CSS) offering data communications, security systems, and customized supply chain services to technology, finance, telecommunications, transportation, education, government, healthcare, and retail customers; and Utility and Broadband Solutions (UBS) supplying electrical transmission and distribution products, power plant MRO supplies, smart-grid technologies, and materials management for power generation, transmission, and distribution industries. The company serves commercial and industrial businesses, contractors, government agencies, institutions, telecommunications providers, and utilities across more than 150,000 active customers worldwide through approximately 500 branches, ten fully automated distribution centers, and operations in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Singapore. Founded in 1922 as a Westinghouse Electric subsidiary and headquartered at 225 West Station Square Drive in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, WESCO International employs around 20,000 people and reported approximately $22 billion in revenue in 2023. In recent developments, the company agreed in October 2024 to acquire Ascent LLC, a St. Louis-based data center facility management provider, for $185 million on a cash-free, debt-free basis to enhance its data center lifecycle services, engineering expertise, and advanced liquid cooling solutions, with the deal closing on December 6, 2024; it also invested $10 million in September 2025 in Kojo, a construction technology startup, to develop AI-powered procurement tools; additionally, WESCO continues integrating prior acquisitions such as Rahi Systems in 2022 and Anixter in 2020, supporting its strategic expansion in high-growth areas like data centers and digital infrastructure amid a focus on mid-teens operating leverage and an 8% EBITDA margin target by 2027.
