Western Capital Resources, Inc. is a holding company that acquires and operates established lower middle market businesses across diverse industries. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, the company operates through four main segments: Cellular Retail, Direct to Consumer, Consumer Finance, and Corporate. Its Cellular Retail segment operates as a dealer for Cricket Wireless, selling cellular phones, accessories, and ancillary services while also functioning as a payment center for customers. The Direct to Consumer segment runs online and direct marketing retail operations offering a wide assortment of products including roses, plants, seeds, garden accessories, home restoration hardware, décor, and furniture through brands such as Jackson & Perkins, Wayside Gardens, Park Seed, Van Dyke’s Restorers, and Northern Brewer. The Consumer Finance segment provides retail consumer financing services through multiple locations in several states. The company’s manufacturing capabilities include outdoor power equipment and emergency safety shelters through Swisher, a maker of Made in America products also offering turn-key manufacturing and distribution services. Recent major changes include the acquisition of Northern Brewer LLC in July 2024, expanding its Direct to Consumer offerings in the home-brewing and winemaking segment, and continued strategic acquisitions of niche market leaders across different geographies and industries. Western Capital maintains over 100 retail locations in 18 states and subsidiaries covering diverse consumer and manufacturing sectors, demonstrating a broad operational footprint in the US market.
