Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Pleasanton, California, Workday serves over 11,000 organizations worldwide including Fortune 500 companies and midsize enterprises across industries such as technology, healthcare, education, and financial services, with operations spanning the United States, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia-Pacific through data centers in Virginia, Georgia, Oregon, Ireland, and the Netherlands. Workday recently completed acquisitions of Sana in September 2025 for $1.1 billion to enhance AI-powered enterprise knowledge tools and learning platforms, Paradox in August 2025 for conversational AI in recruiting, Flowise in August 2025 for low-code AI agent building, and Pipedream in November 2025 to connect HR and finance data to over 3,000 applications; it announced partnerships with Google BigQuery for Workday Data Cloud, Randstad, TechWolf, and MetLife for wellness, plus the launch of Workday GO for midsize companies, EU Sovereign Cloud for data residency, a global developer network, Pay Transparency Analyzer, and a new Reston, Virginia office for public sector expansion.
