John Wood Group PLC John Wood Group PLC, commonly known as Wood, is a British multinational engineering and consulting firm headquartered in Aberdeen, Scotland, with origins tracing back to 1982 when it split from JW Holdings to focus on energy services. The company operates across more than 60 countries, including key hubs in the U.S., U.K., Canada, Australia, Norway, Saudi Arabia, and others, employing approximately 35,000 people and serving energy, materials, and industrial sectors through its core segments of Projects, Operations, Consulting, and Investment Services. In Projects, it delivers front-end engineering design (FEED), procurement, construction management (PMC), engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCm), detailed design, upgrades, expansions, and startup services for complex capital investments; Operations provides modifications, asset management, maintenance, and performance services for critical infrastructure; Consulting offers technical advisory, digital solutions, and decarbonisation strategies throughout client investment lifecycles; while Investment Services supports strategic asset-related opportunities. Wood supplies advanced process technologies, engineering support, production assistance, maintenance management, and industrial gas turbine overhaul and repair to oil and gas, power generation, hydrogen, natural gas, and renewables markets, with digital tools mitigating design risks and enhancing efficiency, safety, and sustainability. In a major recent development, the company was acquired by Dubai-based Sidara in November 2025 following shareholder approval of a recommended cash offer that included a $450 million capital injection from Sidara, extension of debt facilities to October 2028, and new liquidity arrangements amid financial challenges; earlier in 2025, shares were suspended from the London Stock Exchange due to delayed filings, and the firm sold its 50% stake in RWG to Siemens Energy for $135 million to reduce debt.
