Worthington Steel Inc is a leading metals processor specializing in value-added carbon flat-rolled steel processing, electrical steel laminations and tailor welded blanks. The company offers a comprehensive range of processing services including pickling, galvanizing, slitting, configured blanking, specialty cold reduction and lightweighting solutions; precision laminations for electric motors, transformers and generators; and laser-welded steel and aluminum blanks for automotive and other applications. It serves diverse end markets such as automotive, heavy truck, agriculture, construction, machinery and equipment, energy and industrial sectors with operations primarily in North America including facilities across the United States, Canada and Mexico, as well as select international locations in China, India and Germany. Founded in 1955 and headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Worthington Steel operates as a standalone public company following its 2023 spin-off from Worthington Enterprises. Recent developments include the acquisition of Tempel Steel enhancing its electrical steel capabilities for electric vehicles and infrastructure; the completed purchase of a majority 52% stake in European lamination manufacturer Sitem Group through subsidiary Tempel Steel in 2025 to expand into the electric motor market and bolster European presence; and strategic investments in sustainable steel processing aligned with decarbonization trends including expansions in Mexico and Canada.
