The company conducts its operations through key segments including Ark/WM Outrigger, HG Global/BAM, Kudu, and Bamboo, offering a range of insurance, reinsurance, and capital solutions products and services. Ark/WM Outrigger provides specialized property and casualty reinsurance and insurance coverages across property, specialty, marine and energy, casualty, and accident and health lines, underwritten through Lloyd’s Syndicates 4020 and 3902 as well as WM Outrigger Re; HG Global/BAM supplies financial guaranty insurance on municipal bonds for public projects such as schools, utilities, and transportation, alongside reinsurance protection; Kudu delivers capital solutions to boutique asset and wealth managers for generational ownership transfers, management buyouts, acquisitions, growth financing, and legacy partner liquidity, complemented by strategic assistance to portfolio companies; and Bamboo operates as a tech- and data-enabled managing general agent platform distributing homeowners’ insurance and ancillary products like flood coverage to the residential property market in California and Texas through admitted and non-admitted programs, broker channels, and direct-to-consumer channels, while also managing insurance-linked securities such as catastrophe bonds, collateralized reinsurance, and industry loss warranties. White Mountains Insurance Group, Ltd., founded in 1980 and headquartered in Hamilton, Bermuda, with its principal executive offices in Hanover, New Hampshire, primarily serves U.S. markets with select international reinsurance exposure. Recent developments include the October 2025 agreement to sell a controlling interest in Bamboo to funds advised by CVC Capital Partners for $1.75 billion, following its January 2024 acquisition for approximately $300 million and yielding expected net cash proceeds of nearly $840 million; the July 2025 agreement to acquire a majority stake in specialty property and casualty managing general agent and program administrator Distinguished Programs for $230 million, expanding program management capabilities; and the September 2025 reinsurance partnership between Bamboo Ide8 Insurance Services and Accredited Insurance Company supporting a new excess and surplus signature program backed by a multi-year sidecar via Greenshoots Re.
