- Đuro Đaković Grupa d.d. is a Croatian industrial engineering and manufacturing holding company that designs, manufactures, modernizes, and services railway rolling stock, defense equipment, heavy machinery components, and energy infrastructure. Founded in 1921 and headquartered in Slavonski Brod, Croatia, the group operates primarily through three specialized subsidiaries: Đuro Đaković Specijalna vozila d.d., Đuro Đaković Strojna obrada d.o.o., and Đuro Đaković Energetika i infrastruktura d.o.o., structured across four core business segments: Transport, Defence, Machine Processing, and Energy and Infrastructure. In the Transport segment, the company manufactures and services specialized railway freight wagons; including four-axle intermodal container flat wagons such as the Sgmmnss and Sggmrss series; bulk and hopper self-discharging wagons such as Faccnpps and Tagnpps models for aggregates, grain, and weather-sensitive materials; high-capacity liquid and chemical tank wagons; covered freight cars; and specialized flat cars such as Slnps wagons engineered for track maintenance and sleeper transport. In the Defence segment, the company provides manufacturing, modernization, systems integration, and maintenance for armored combat vehicles, infantry fighting vehicles, main battle tanks, and remote-controlled humanitarian demining machinery. In the Machine Processing segment, the company delivers engineering, precision CNC machining, and heat treatment solutions; producing power transmission systems, reduction gearboxes, industrial gears, drive shafts, pipeline gate valves, and oil and gas wellhead equipment for international industrial clients. In the Energy and Infrastructure segment, the company operates utility and energy networks; supplying thermal energy, compressed air, and natural gas; alongside industrial facility management and infrastructure services. In recent strategic and operational developments, Đuro Đaković Grupa completed a comprehensive financial recapitalization and ownership restructuring that established Czech industrial conglomerates CE Industries and Promet Group as majority owners through DD Acquisition a.s., initiating broad facility modernizations aimed at expanding production capacity up to 1,000 freight wagons annually. In the defense sector, the group entered into a strategic collaboration with BAE Systems to execute the comprehensive depot-level overhaul, weapons integration, and lifecycle maintenance of M2A2 ODS Bradley infantry fighting vehicles for the Croatian Armed Forces under a defense modernization program extending through 2026. Additionally, the group continues to expand its commercial rail order book across the European Union, securing major multimillion-euro export contracts in 2024 and 2025 for specialized Faccnpps hopper wagons and Slnps freight carriages delivered to industrial and railway logistics operators in Germany and Western Europe.
