Business
Array Digital Infrastructure, Inc. (NYSE: AD) owns and operates shared wireless communications infrastructure, including over 4,400 cell towers across the United States, enabling 5G and other wireless technologies for wireless carriers, government agencies, municipalities, wireless internet service providers, and broadband providers. The company provides tower rental services under master lease agreements; wireless roaming services; wireless eligible telecommunications carrier services; and retains certain wireless spectrum assets, with noncontrolling investment interests in additional towers. It serves consumer, business, government, and enterprise customers through colocation opportunities that support network expansion in rural and remote areas. Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Array Digital Infrastructure operates as a majority-owned subsidiary of Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. (NYSE: TDS). The company focuses on the wireless telecommunications infrastructure segment of the communication services industry, with operations concentrated in the United States. In August 2025, the company changed its name from United States Cellular Corporation following the completion of a transaction with T-Mobile US, Inc., under which T-Mobile acquired its wireless operations and certain spectrum assets for $4.4 billion, while Array retained its tower portfolio and entered a new master lease agreement for T-Mobile colocations on over 2,000 additional sites. It anticipates pending spectrum transactions with AT&T, expected to close by late 2025, and with Verizon, targeted for Q3 2026, alongside ongoing colocation growth initiatives that drove 68% year-over-year cash site rental revenue increases in Q3 2025. Leadership transitioned with Douglas W. Chambers serving as interim President and CEO, overseeing operational ramp-up and strategic monetization of retained assets.
