The company operates through three main segments--Ag Services and Oilseeds, Carbohydrate Solutions, and Nutrition--with activities spanning more than 50 countries across six continents, including key locations in the United States, Switzerland, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, and the United Kingdom; it maintains over 270 plants and 420 crop procurement facilities worldwide, supported by a global transportation network and port operations. Founded in 1902 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, by George A. Archer and John W. Daniels, ADM is headquartered at 77 West Wacker Drive in Chicago, Illinois, following relocations from Decatur, Illinois in 2014, and employs approximately 44,000 people as of 2024.
