ADTRAN Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADTN) provides open, disaggregated networking and communications platforms, software, systems, and services focused on broadband access and optical networking markets worldwide. The company offers fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) solutions supporting up to 10 Gbps symmetrical speeds; passive optical network (PON) technologies including XGS-PON, NG-PON2, and 50G PON with its SDX 6400 Series optical line terminals; Ethernet switches with 10 Gbps to 100 Gbps speeds; routing platforms; optical transport systems; mesh Wi-Fi gateways; software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) solutions; cloud-based network management software; Mosaic One SaaS platform for aggregating data from broadband access and in-home devices; quantum key distribution (QKD) systems; and Oscilloquartz optical cesium atomic clocks for timing and synchronization. It operates through two segments, Network Solutions encompassing subscriber, access, aggregation, and optical networking hardware and software, and Services & Support including network design, implementation, maintenance, cloud-hosted services, and professional technical support. ADTRAN Holdings serves communications service providers, utilities, municipalities, fiber overbuilders, cable/MSOs, SMBs, distributed enterprises including Fortune 500 companies, and government agencies across the United States, Germany, the United Kingdom, Australia, India, Israel, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Slovakia, Tunisia, Poland, and other international locations. Founded in 1985 and headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama, the company resulted from a 2022 business combination with Adtran Networks SE (formerly ADVA Optical Networking), which expanded its portfolio to include end-to-end data transport products and Oscilloquartz timing solutions; this integration prompted a Business Efficiency Program completed in late 2024, involving product line discontinuations, inventory adjustments, and closure of its Greifswald, Germany facility. In 2024, ADTRAN self-certified as Buy America-compliant to support U.S. Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) funding eligibility for communications service providers. Recent financial activities include pricing a $175 million convertible senior notes offering due 2030 in September 2025 at 3.75% interest to repay borrowings under its credit agreement and fund capped call transactions. The company continues to innovate with demonstrations of 400 Gbit/s QKD-secured data transmission in collaboration with Orange.
