Business
AIB Group plc provides a comprehensive suite of banking and financial solutions to individuals, businesses, and corporate clients. The institution operates through distinct segments, including Retail Banking, Capital Markets, AIB UK, and the recently established Climate Capital division. For personal customers, the company offers a wide array of products such as current and savings accounts, various deposit options including demand and fixed-term, and currency facilities. Lending solutions span personal, car, and home improvement loans, alongside a strong mortgage offering that includes specialized green mortgages to support energy-efficient homes. Additional services encompass credit and debit cards, investment funds, a range of insurance products covering life, home, car, and travel needs, and pension planning. Serving the business and corporate sectors, AIB provides extensive corporate finance, asset finance, invoice financing, and treasury solutions. This includes diverse lending products for business development, startups, and agricultural investment, along with credit lines, overdrafts, and government credit guarantees. Specialized services extend to cash management, merchant services, foreign exchange, and sophisticated interest rate and foreign currency risk management. Trade finance options feature documentary collections, import and export letters of credit, standby letters of credit, and bank guarantees. The AIB UK segment delivers corporate, retail, and business banking services across the United Kingdom. A significant strategic focus is on sustainability, exemplified by the Climate Capital segment, which specializes in financing large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects with an outlook across Europe, the UK, and North America. This commitment is further underscored by a €30 billion Climate Action Fund, with substantial deployment towards green lending. AIB Group plc maintains a strong presence through its network of over 170 branches across the Republic of Ireland, complemented by robust digital channels including mobile banking apps and online portals. The company continuously invests in digital transformation and AI capabilities to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency. Founded in 1825 and headquartered in Dublin, Ireland, the company was formerly known as Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. before changing its name to AIB Group plc in December 2017. The Irish State's shareholding has significantly reduced, indicating a clear path towards full private ownership.
