Business
Aperam S.A. Aperam S.A. is a Luxembourg-based global producer of stainless, electrical, and specialty steels, as well as recycling services. Founded in 2011 as a spin-off from ArcelorMittal, the company operates through four primary segments: Stainless & Electrical Steel, which manufactures a wide range of stainless steel products including grain-oriented and non-grain-oriented electrical steels, along with special carbon products; Services & Solutions, which provides customized steel transformation, marketing, and logistics services; Alloys & Specialties, which produces nickel alloys and specific high-value stainless steels; and Recycling & Renewables, which collects, trades, processes, and recycles stainless steel scrap and high-performance alloys. Aperam maintains flat stainless and electrical steel production capacity of 2.5 million tons annually across facilities in Europe (primarily Belgium and France), Brazil, and the United States, serving industries such as aerospace, automotive, construction, medical, oil and gas, and industrial applications with a global distribution network spanning over 40 countries and generating revenue from Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Africa. In a significant strategic expansion, Aperam completed its acquisition of U.S.-based Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc. in January 2025 for $539 million, enhancing its presence in the aerospace and industrial markets, broadening its product portfolio in premium alloys, and unlocking annual synergies of approximately $30 million through complementary offerings and cross-regional market access.
