Business
Aclara Resources Inc. (TSX: ARA; OTC: ARAAF) develops rare earth mineral resources through its mine-to-magnet solution focused on sustainable production of magnetic rare earths for permanent magnets used in electric vehicles, wind turbines, robotics and defense technologies; its core products and services encompass mixed rare earth carbonates (MREC) from ionic clay deposits via patented Circular Mineral Harvesting technology that recirculates 95% of water and 99% of reagents without blasting, crushing, milling or tailings; high-purity individual rare earth oxides including didymium, terbium and dysprosium produced at a U.S. separation facility through wholly owned subsidiary Aclara Technologies Inc.; and rare earth metals and alloys via Aclara Metals joint venture with CAP S.A. The company operates the Carina Project in Goias, Brazil and Penco Module in Biobio Region, Chile, with exploration concessions in Peru, targeting heavy rare earths that could supply feedstock for 5 million EVs annually and represent 50% of projected U.S. and 70% of EU demand. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Santiago, Chile, Aclara Resources changed its name from 1303714 B.C. Ltd in October 2021. Recent developments include the April 2024 closing of a US$29.1 million initial investment by CAP S.A. for a 20% stake in Chilean subsidiary REE Uno SpA owning the Penco Module, with further tranches of US$12.5 million in January 2025 and US$6.9 million in 2026 plus an option for US$50 million post-environmental permit; a February 2025 capital increase subscribed by CAP and Hochschild Group affiliates funding the Carina Project and U.S. separation plant, adding CAP Chairman Juan Enrique Rassmuss to the board; an August 2025 MOU with Virginia Tech for a heavy rare earth separation pilot plant in Blacksburg processing Carina feedstock; and a May 2025 joining of Safe to bolster U.S. critical minerals supply chains.
