The company operates through key segments including the Aisin Seiki Group for general automotive parts, Aisin AW Group for transmissions, Aisin Takaoka Group for body structures, ADVICS Group for brakes, and others covering aftermarket and new mobility services, serving major OEMs like Toyota, Lexus, BMW, Isuzu, and Suzuki with a focus on electrification, automated driving, and sustainability. Founded in 1943 through the merger of predecessor entities and headquartered at 2-1 Asahi-machi, Kariya, Aichi, Japan, Aisin maintains extensive global operations across Japan, North America, Europe, China, ASEAN, India, and other regions with 191 consolidated subsidiaries and 13 equity affiliates. In recent developments, Aisin concluded a short-form merger with Aisin Chemical Co., Ltd. in January 2025 and announced structural changes including the merger of three non-manufacturing North American units effective April 1, 2025 to enhance flexibility; formed partnerships such as with Mitsubishi Electric Mobility in 2024 for next-generation xEV products and with BMW Group for e-axle production; launched new eAxles adopted in models like Toyota bZ4X, Suzuki e VITARA, and Isuzu D-MAX EV in 2025; and began contract production of hybrid units for Guangzhou Automobile Group while advancing perovskite solar cells and biofuel demonstrations.
