MRG Metals Ltd explores and develops heavy mineral sands and other mineral deposits primarily in Mozambique, with additional exploration interests in Zimbabwe and Western Australia. The company holds a portfolio of high-calibre projects in Mozambique, including the flagship Corridor Sands project encompassing Corridor Central mining concession (11142C, 179 square kilometres containing the Koko Massava deposit of 103 million tonnes at 6.6% total heavy minerals), Corridor South mining concession (11137C, 208 square kilometres hosting 257 million tonnes at 6.0% total heavy minerals), Corridor North exploration licence (10779L), Linhuane exploration licence (7423L, 56 square kilometres with high-grade zones up to 17.9% total heavy minerals), and Marao exploration licence (6842L) featuring the Magonde target with confirmed valuable heavy mineral content including rutile, zircon, and ilmenite; it also pursues rare earth elements, thorium, uranium, carbonatite, phosphate, and lithium opportunities such as the Adriano, Fotinho, Olinga, Shawa carbonatite complex, and Lake Johnston/Forrestania tenements. Incorporated in 2011 and headquartered in Ballarat, Australia, MRG Metals targets production of heavy mineral sands concentrate, with a combined JORC resource of approximately two billion tonnes across its Mozambique assets and an exploration target supporting phased output from 110,000 tonnes per annum initially to 440,000 tonnes per annum. In June 2024, the company entered a binding joint venture agreement with Sinowin Lithium (HK) Co., Ltd and Sinowin Lithium Cobalt (Shenzhen) Ltd, under which Sinowin funds all development costs through to 440,000 tonnes per annum production, holds 70% equity in the Hong Kong-based joint venture company Terriland (with MRG at 30% free-carried, diluting to 20% at higher production), manages operations via UAE subsidiary Tailan Mining Ltd, and commits to off-take all output while providing initial US$6 million funding plus ongoing expenditures exceeding US$1 million to date; key recent advancements include granting of Corridor South mining licence in June 2025, Linhuane exploration licence in May 2025, Corridor Central mining licence in January 2025, ongoing environmental impact assessments, electrical supply confirmations, pre-construction engineering, and infill drilling at Marao confirming high-grade mineralisation, alongside a July 2025 entitlement offer to raise A$818,000 for further exploration at Linhuane, Adriano, Fotinho, and Olinga projects.
