Business
Zimplats Holdings Limited Zimplats Holdings Limited (ZIM.AX), a subsidiary of Impala Platinum BV, engages in the production of platinum group metals and associated base metals from the Great Dyke in Zimbabwe; its core products include platinum, palladium, rhodium, iridium, ruthenium, and osmium, as well as nickel, gold, copper, cobalt, and silver. The company operates underground mines at Ngezi and processing plants at Selous and Ngezi, functioning as a vertically integrated mining operation focused on the non-gold precious metals and minerals sector with customers comprising global refiners and industrial users of PGMs. Incorporated in 1998 and headquartered in Saint Peter Port, Guernsey, Zimplats maintains all its operations in Zimbabwe. In recent developments, Zimplats secured a substantial equipment order from Sandvik in Q3 2025 valued at approximately $30 million for 28 pieces of underground mining equipment to expand operations at the Ngezi mines complex, supporting the transition from open-pit to underground production methods. Additionally, the company launched a 45 MW solar project in 2025, following a 35 MW solar plant constructed in August 2024, to enhance energy security and operational reliability at its Zimbabwe facilities through renewable power integration.
